A 25-year-old Christian woman in Pakistan remains in critical condition after being brutally raped on April 11, 2026, while working as a laborer in Punjab. Her family now faces threats and pressure as they seek justice against the accused. CPRP strongly condemns this horrific crime and calls for immediate accountability, protection for the victim, and swift justice without intimidation.

A 25-year-old Christian woman in Pakistan is fighting for her life after a horrific sexual assault that took place on April 11, 2026, in Punjab Province.

The survivor, a daily-wage laborer from Chak No. 175-RB in Nankana Sahib District, had gone to work in a citrus orchard alongside other women when the attack occurred. During a break, she was allegedly targeted by a local contractor, identified as Faizan Mehboob Rehmani (also known as Kaka), along with an accomplice. According to her testimony, the men forced her into a room at gunpoint, restrained her, and subjected her to repeated sexual violence. She described being overpowered, threatened with death, and rendered unable to call for help. The brutality of the assault left her unconscious.

The woman was later discovered near her home in a severely injured condition, with significant blood loss. She was initially taken to a nearby hospital, where she remained unconscious for a day. After regaining consciousness, she recounted the attack to her family, confirming the identities of the alleged perpetrators. Medical reports indicate the severity of the violence, with doctors treating her for extensive injuries, including the need for 22 stitches. Her condition deteriorated due to infection and complications, leading to her transfer to a hospital in Lahore for specialized care. She remains in critical condition.

The victim comes from an extremely vulnerable background. Her father passed away two years ago, and her mother, who is unable to speak or hear, struggles to care for the family. The woman and her relatives rely on daily labor for survival, highlighting the economic hardship surrounding the case. Despite the seriousness of the crime, the family has reportedly faced pressure and threats from the accused and their associates to withdraw the case. While a police report has been filed, concerns remain over delays in legal proceedings, including the granting of pre-arrest bail to the main suspect.

Rights advocates note that this case reflects a wider issue faced by minority communities in Pakistan, where victims especially those from poor and marginalized backgrounds often encounter intimidation and barriers when seeking justice.

Christian Persecution Relief Pakistan (CPRP) strongly condemns this brutal act of violence against a vulnerable woman. We call for immediate and transparent action to ensure that those responsible are held fully accountable under the law. The use of threats and pressure to silence victims is unacceptable and must not be tolerated. CPRP stands with the survivor and her family during this painful time and urges authorities to provide protection, medical support, and justice without delay.

No one should suffer in silence. Justice must prevail.
