14-Year-Old Christian Girl Allegedly Kidnapped, Forcibly Converted and Married in Lahore

May 27, 2026

A 14-year-old Christian girl suffering from epilepsy and mental health challenges was reportedly abducted in Lahore, Pakistan, and later subjected to forced religious conversion and marriage. The case has raised renewed concerns over the vulnerability of Christian minor girls and the misuse of conversion and marriage documents to obstruct justice.

A disturbing case of alleged abduction, forced conversion, and child marriage has emerged from Lahore, Pakistan, involving a 14-year-old Christian girl identified as Nisha Bibi.

According to reports, Nisha, the daughter of daily wage laborer Abbas Masih and a member of a local Brethren church in Lahore's Gulbahar Colony, disappeared on May 12, 2026, after leaving her place of employment where she worked as a domestic helper. When she failed to return home, her family began searching for her and later approached local police authorities.

Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) for abduction after reviewing CCTV footage that reportedly showed Nisha leaving her workplace with an unidentified middle-aged man. Through community efforts, the individual was allegedly identified as Arshad Habib, a 41-year-old Muslim man who, according to reports, has been married multiple times and has several children.

Family members state that Nisha suffers from epilepsy and mental health challenges, making her particularly vulnerable to exploitation. They were later presented with documents claiming that Nisha had voluntarily converted to Islam and married Habib. However, the family strongly disputes the authenticity of these documents, alleging that they were fabricated to shield the accused from prosecution.

Legal representatives for the family have challenged the validity of statements and certificates presented in the case, arguing that Nisha is a minor and could not legally consent to marriage. Reports further indicate that the accused was located in Rahim Yar Khan district, where he was allegedly residing with Nisha and two children taken from another marriage.

The case has reignited concerns among human rights advocates regarding the recurring pattern of abductions, forced conversions, and child marriages involving Christian and other minority girls in Pakistan. Rights groups have repeatedly called for stronger legal protections, impartial investigations, and effective enforcement of child protection laws.

Christian Persecution Relief Pakistan (CPRP) strongly condemns the alleged abduction, forced conversion, and marriage of Nisha Bibi. Cases involving minor Christian girls continue to expose serious gaps in the protection of religious minorities and vulnerable children.

"We call upon Pakistani authorities to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation, ensure the immediate recovery and protection of the victim, and hold all responsible parties accountable under the law. No child should be deprived of her freedom, faith, identity, or future through coercion, manipulation, or abuse."

CPRP also urges national and international human rights organizations, church leaders, and policymakers to advocate for stronger safeguards against forced conversions and child marriages, ensuring justice and protection for victims and their families.

Please pray for Nisha Bibi's safe recovery, for strength and comfort for her family, and for justice to prevail. Pray also for the protection of vulnerable Christian girls across Pakistan who continue to face threats of abduction, forced conversion, and exploitation.
